Kristen was also the Educational Director at The Bija Project (Lauren’s Brooklyn preschool!). We are thrilled to welcome Kristen back to Humble Heart for her fourth summer. Kristen says, “The freedom to spend unstructured time in nature allows children to explore, develop their creativity, take risks, experiment, build relationships, and feel a deep sense of belonging. I truly feel the benefits of this time are endless, and creating the space for children to spend as much time as possible playing outdoors is one of the most important things we can do as educators today!”

Colin is our summer camp co-director and we are excited to welcome him to our team for the 2025 season. Colin has extensive experience working with children ages 1+ in public schools, summer camps and several nature/forest school environments including ReTribe, 3 Mile Family Camp and his own homeschool program, Imaginature based in Johnson, VT. Colin loves to sit by his woodstove, split wood, build things, play music, go swimming, go for walks, go sledding and skiing, climb trees, orate folk stories, plant trees, and hang with friends. He says, “By letting kids play, children can learn the natural innate flows of the earth. In a non structured experience, children can not only play and enjoy life to their heart's content, but also create their own structures with their peers. Being outside like this allows children to discover the beauty and magic of our world.”
